German Chancellor Angela Merkel has refused to simply accept U.S. President Donald Trump’s invitation to attend an envisaged summit of the Group of Seven (G7) in the USA, Politico reported on Friday.
“The federal chancellor thanks President Trump for his invitation to the G7 summit on the finish of June in Washington. As of at this time, contemplating the general pandemic scenario, she can not conform to her private participation, to a journey to Washington,” the report quoted German authorities spokesman Steffen Seibert as saying.
“She’s going to after all proceed to observe the event of the pandemic.”
Trump believes there can be “no larger instance of reopening” than holding a G7 summit in the USA close to the top of June, the White Home mentioned on Tuesday.
